Hospital types describe how a facility is organised or the range of services it offers. Use them alongside location and specialty filters.

What a hospital type can tell you
A government hospital may have a different registration process from a private hospital. A teaching hospital may combine clinical care with training. A specialist hospital may focus on a particular field, while a multispecialty hospital may have several departments. These labels do not establish a hospital’s quality, price or suitability for a particular patient.
Ask the hospital directly about eligibility, referrals, appointments, payment arrangements and the services you need. Ownership or funding alone is not a reliable guide to what your visit will involve.
